چکیده
This study focuses on mechanical characterization of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates with non-treated and treated multiwalled nanotubes (CNTs) using nitric acid. The CNTs were acid to obtain carboxylic functional group. epoxy resins are mixed 0.3%wt at a constant mixing speed 2000 rpm times varied from 24 96 h. Laminates show an increase in the flexural strength by 17.4 15.3% h as compared control laminates. test results indicated that have improved interlaminar shear failure stress which is 14 7% higher specimen. Improvement behavior was achieved for functionalized based prevents agglomeration. Longer time (96 h) not beneficial enhancing properties due break-up small aggregates overcoming effect van der Waals forces.

Flexural Behavior of Fiber–Metal Laminates Reinforced with Surface-Functionalized Nanoclay
The effects of surface-functionalized Na+-montmorillonite nanoclay particles on the flexural behavior of E-glass fiber-reinforced aluminum (GLARE) laminates were investigated. The nanoclay particles were subjected to surface functionalization using 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylamine to increase their compatibility with the epoxy matrix and improve their dispersion within the matrix. Expe...
متن کاملShear strengthening of reinforced concrete beams with CFRP
The current paper reviews existing design guidelines for strengthening beams in shear with carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets and proposes a modification to Concrete Society Technical Report TR55. It goes on to present the results of an experimental programme which evaluated the contribution of CFRP sheets towards the shear strength of continuous reinforced concrete (RC) beams. A tot...
متن کاملthe flexural strength and flexural - shear void concrete slabs with cfrp and gfrp and steel sheets
a large number of bridges and buildings that are currently used, are made of slabs with opening. some of these buildings and bridges have been severely damaged because of natural disasters such as earthquake, storm and other effects such as materials fatigue and alkaline and corrosive agents. therefore, retrofitting and strengthening of these structures is essential and affordable. in this rese...
متن کاملFlexural Testing of High Strength Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened with CFRP Sheets
The objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of externally bonded CFRP sheets to increase the flexural strength of reinforced high strength concrete (HSC) beams. Four-point bending flexural tests to complete failure on six concrete beams, strengthened with different layouts of CFRP sheets were conducted. Three-dimensional nonlinear finite element (FE) models were adopted by A...
متن کاملMechanical and Impact Properties of Untreated Jute Fabric Reinforced Polyester Laminates Compared with Different E- Glass Fibre Reinforced Laminates
In recent years, the improvement of properties of natural fibre reinforced laminates over the pure polymeric matrix has been thoroughly investigated with the aim of providing a possible replacement of E-glass fibre reinforced composites for some large-volume applications. In the present study, the properties of a jute/polyester laminate are compared with those yielded by two E-glass fibre woven...
